Background InformationWith the increase in female abusive by spouses/boyfriends, crimes against women, and the steady increase in crime in the Lehigh Valley, the LVFC is helping to educate ladies in self defense. When the subject of self defense comes up, women are rarely mentioned. Unfortunately it is the females that need the most help. This educational ad is just one of the LVFC's contribution to that cause.

This message is for ladies who are being threatened by a violent ex-spouse or boyfriend. These are steps you should take to protect yourself - because all too often women are injured or killed by a violent "ex". Do not think for a minute that a protection-from-abuse order will protect you. It will not. In many cases, a PFA only serves to enrage an already violent man. First, you should get a handgun permit, buy a handgun, and take instruction on proper and safe use. A good gun dealer can help you. Second, carry your handgun with you at all times, and keep your eyes open. Third, secure you home, get a dog, and if possible have someone stay with you until the crisis has passed. Fourth, when out of your home, have a cell phone ready to call nine one one. Fifth, when in parking lots, stay specially alert and be prepared to defend yourself. There are a lot of crazy predators out there. More and more women are arming themselves. Don't be a victim...defend yourself.
